Amity – Weighing Segment Operations

Amity ventured into weighing systems way back in 1995 on repeated demand from its Sugar Industry customers. Most of the sugar industry is located in the countryside, away from Metro cities. Accurate and continuous weighing operations are a mission critical activity for this industry.

Starting with two customers, within three years Amity became a vendor at more than 50 customers where 400+ weigh bridges are deployed. Initially weighing segment business was done in the name of "Amity Computers & Communication Limited", a wholly own subsidiary of Amity Software Limited, However, later in 2007 it was merged in Amity Software Limited.

Amity today has a full-fledged weighing division in the company employing one of the largest technical teams in northern India - who extend support to our customers in this segment which are widespread across North India and Nepal.

We manage and support operations of 400+ Platform Scales (Truck Weighbridges) in U.P., Bihar, Punjab, and Nepal. In the sugar industry alone over 31 million tons of sugarcane is weighed every year today on these weighbridges. Some of the other specific highlights of our weighing division activities are

• Prominent large industries in the Aluminum and Cement industries use Operator less Weighing System supplied by Amity.
• Largest Sugar companies in Eastern Africa (Kenya & Uganda) use Operator less Weighing System supplied by Amity through its sister concern Amity Software Inc, Sacramento, CA.
• In the year 2009 Amity invented a Bluetooth enabled Hanging Scale for use of "Weighing of Green Tea Leaf consignments" in the field. This product enables cordless communication between weigh scale and Hand-held computer. 300+ such Amity weigh scales are deployed in about 20 Tea Factories in East Africa
• In the year 2011 Amity has launched a special Weighbridge Conversion Kit which works on rechargeable batteries. This kit is designed for converting Mechanical Weighbridge to Electro-mechanical weighbridge with Digital output. This product, since it does not require Electricity Connection, is very useful in cases where wighbridges are installed in temporary remote locations where electricity connection is not available. It keeps the weigh scale operational for three days, without recharging the battery.

Amity has its own manufactured products including Bluetooth Hanging Scale, Weighbridges, Smart Weighing equipment, and Digital Weight Indicators. Amity product models are approved by the Govt. of India and the same are manufactured in Noida (U.P.) under manufacturing license issued by the Government of U.P.

Smart Weighing System, which facilitates operator less weighing at the Weighbridge, is Amity's own innovation introduced in the year 2005. Another useful product by Amity is Automatic Vehicle Identification System using UHF Radio Frequency tags and equipment. This system eliminates fraudulent, double, or wrong vehicle weighing and brings perfection to weighing process. This system is gaining popularity at most of the forward looking companies in India and East Africa.
